 - It will be the 22nd edition of the World Cup with the hosts hoping to lure Zidane to signing a four-year contract 

Outgoing Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane could be on his way to manage the Qatar national team in preparation of the 2022 World Cup to be hosted by the Middle Eastern country. Qatar will automatically gain qualification to the 22nd edition of the World Cup and are looking to bring in all experienced hands on deck to forge a formidable team. Zidane stunned pundits and football fans world over when he announced his unforeseen resignation as the Los Blancos manager on Thursday, May 31.

According to Sun (UK), Zidane is already on English Premier League club Chelsea's radar, with the Stamford Bridge outfit looking to entice the Frenchman into replacing Antonio Conte. It is understood that a four-year-deal worth $30 million will be offered to Zidane to take up the task of leading Qatar to World Cup glory.

This was just after leading them to a third successful Uefa Champions League campaign that saw the legendary Frenchman achieve the impossible and break a record he had only recently just set. Never before in history had any team won the European Championship and managed to retain let alone win it a third straight time. Qatar will be first timers in the World Cup in 2022 and have hugely invested in the World Cup having poured billions of shillings into building state-of-the-art stadia.

Zidanes untimely exit from the Bernabeu, Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino was looking like Madrid's first choice for the top job.
